Verditer’s Remco coaching has been superb. As a new Remco chair, I’ve found Sam and Julia’s guidance invaluable. They not only shared their extensive expertise and insights into good practice but tailored this to my sector and helped me think through how this applied in my organisation.
Our feedback
We are proud of our feedback from clients. Here is a selection of the testimonials we have received during our careers as consultants and in house:
I have a strong relationship with Verditer who have been my ‘go to’ for external reward expertise for some years now. They deliver a quality product, on time and in budget, and have this ability to turn the complex into something easily understood, pragmatic and with the knowledge that it will land well.
I’ve really enjoyed working with the Verditer team and learnt so much along the way too. Thank you for all your hard work, guidance and support throughout this project. I hope we can work together again the future.
We’ve had some great feedback internally on the bonus review that Verditer completed. In particular, their help in scoping what is feasible for a cash-based LTIP meant we could explore all the options and have confidence in our decision. Their presentation was clear and the level of detail provided means we have what we need to now take it all forward.
Verditer’s pay benchmarking knowledge allowed us to scrutinise the different sectors we work in. The robustness of their approach gave the executives confidence in the process and their decisions.
The strategy gave us clarity on how we want to reward our people and gave us the basis for developing an approach to reward thar suits us now and for the future. Julia’s attendance at our executive meetings was really valuable. She helped position everything in a way that resonated with the senior team and demonstrated the professionalism with which we were approaching the project. We’re very proud of what we achieved in such ambitious timescales. We really feel that we delivered on our goals.
I worked with Sam and the Verditer team to conduct a pay benchmarking exercise across the organisation. The project helped me to gain a better insight into how we were positioned against the market and develop a strategy accordingly. The Verditer team were a pleasure to work with, providing us with invaluable insight into a complex area.
I would highly recommend Samantha Gee and team at Verditer. They did a great job of sourcing salary and benefits data from across multiple countries across Europe, benchmarking roles against it and producing detailed reports which then supported us to bring our roles to the level of the market. They are professional, work fast, clear on what they can do and by when and deliver what they said they would. This is my second time of working with Sam and I always feel re-assured with her professionalism and ability to address questions which naturally arise when undertaking a compensation review.
We engaged Verditer to review our approach to benefits and recognition. They held focus groups with employees, proposed a series of principles going forward, and made specific recommendations for change. Their insights have helped us enhance our approach, and given us a framework to check back on to ensure our activities are in line with the principles agreed.
We worked with the team at Verditer to develop an entirely new approach to how we pay our people. We have a group structure that includes a charity and more commercial companies, and the team fully understood this and what we wanted to achieve. Rewarding our team fairly is very important to us, and we went through the process in a lot of detail. We also had a key change of personnel part way through the project. This meant we asked a lot of questions and deliberated more than most, but Julia and Susan were extremely patient, supportive and always had clear answers which gave us real confidence in the outcomes. A real pleasure to work with, Verditer have given us a new pay system that we can confidently introduce to the organisation.
Our starting place was a complex arena of underused and underperforming benefits following multiple mergers and acquisitions over several years. With both online and offline employees it all just seemed too difficult. Lissa was able to bring clarity to enable solid foundations to be built which helped us not only in the short term but set us up for the future too. Lissa engaged across all levels of the business from Exec Team to the field teams, office and branch-based employees every step of the way. Lissa delivered a well-managed and structured programme to understand employee views through engaging workshops, conducted a market review of providers through to supporting us to select an employee benefits platform. She helped us get creative in our communications to help us reach all employee groups. In simple terms, she took our eclectic mix of benefits and helped us turn them into a simple, clear and well communicated benefits offering.
The Verditer team advised us on building a rewards strategy that balanced employee needs and expectations with those of our business, taking into account the challenging economic environment. Their experience, research and guidance helped us craft solutions that were well received and have not only supported and motivated our existing employees but allowed us to continue to attract some of the best talent to our firm. This would have been a trickier task without the patience, persistence, and expert knowledge of the Verditer team.
We used Verditer to help us design and introduce a new reward strategy, including a new bonus scheme and pay benchmarking. The team were insightful, commercial and really ‘got us’, creating a bespoke strategy that met our specific requirements and excellently guided our implementation. We would highly recommend.
AMS has worked with Verditer on several assignments, starting with strategic advisory support on our Reward Strategy. They are an incredible partner, providing strategic, and relevant market insight to help us with our challenges whilst ensuring tailored solutions that were right for our business and culture. I particularly valued the ability of Sam to get to the heart of the issue and keep advice simple and pragmatic, not an easy job in the Reward domain.
We worked with Verditer to establish our reward strategy and put clear principles and frameworks in place to support executive and employee pay decisions. Verditer are a trusted partner that is small enough to provide a personal touch, yet have a team of experts to call upon. Sam is calm and confident and got us straight away. She has a wealth of knowledge yet made us feel comfortable to ask any questions, no matter how basic. We feel confident we now have something fair and transparent in place and can say hand on heart that we really have done this properly. This has been transformational for HR. We now have the management tools to ensure that pay decisions sit firmly with the line and have a solid structure that will support the organisation as it grows.”
We are really happy with our partnership with Verditer. In addition to providing ongoing reward support, they have worked with us to calculate and analyse our gender pay gap, draft the commentary, and facilitate action planning workshops, for a number of years now. Verditer understand our industry and bring much valued external perspectives and insights. Our gender pay work is complex but we have faith and confidence in the output produced by the Verditer team. Verditer work as an integral and engaged part of our team, spending time and energy getting to grips with our data and ensuring everything is absolutely spot on. Not just safe hands and critical partnership, but also a pleasure to work with.
Our new career wheel, with clear levels and factors has assisted organisation design and succession planning as well as being a tool for managers and employees to have career and reward conversations. Previously reward was ad hoc and inconsistent. The new approach gives us a framework for decision making and more equity around reward, while allowing us to empower managers and retain the agility needed in our business.
With the Verditer team we ran a project for the review of our variable reward system at the Helsinn Headquarters. Their approach was very professional and the team was able to provide various insights, while still adjusting to the Company needs and culture. Our Company Management, the Board and the Employees were very satisfied (and still are) with the outcome. Verditer’s smart approach, very to the point, was creative but at the same time always actionable for us; in a nutshell: it was a perfect fit for us. We also appreciated very much the professional and constructive relationship, based on mutual respect and true exchange, which we are sure is here to stay! Thank you Verditer team and much success for your future professional and private projects!
Before Verditer came in we weren’t really sure where to start with the project. They spelt it all out and really helped at every step of the way.
Thank you again for the reward review you carried out for us. Your presentation was well received by Remco and the full Board, and they have agreed to implement pretty much all of your recommendations.
The Verditer team are professional and knowledgeable. They took time to understand the dynamics of our business and to partner with us to create reward principles that really worked for our requirements. I would not hesitate to enthusiastically recommend them.
We approached Verditer to support us with a total company benchmarking exercise. From the first conversation it was clear that they understood our needs and had the expertise to support us. They managed the project with professionalism and exceeded expectations at every stage. The outputs received were more insightful and valuable than we could have anticipated and the process has enabled us to think more clearly about our remuneration framework and approach moving forward.
The Gender Pay Workshop Verditer ran with members of our HR team was an excellent use of half a day. Their expertise helped us to get a much better understanding of our pay gap, and to action plan next steps. The summary outcome they provided in follow up has also been really useful in communicating our message.
Learning about Reward has never been my favourite thing to do, largely because it is more often delivered by reward experts who are used to talking to other reward experts in a rather dry and uncompromising manner. Attending your workshop was a very different experience for me as it made connections to the overall HR eco-system and socio-economic context and helped me to make much needed connections.
Verditer’s expertise and advice was invaluable in helping us shape our future reward strategy and prepare us for the business transformation that lay ahead. They provided an external viewpoint that informed sound rationale for change. Involving employees in the design of the new career levels was a powerful trust building exercise and the new pay structures will promote trust and transparency in reward practices. It felt like Sam and Julia were a part of our team.
I attended the Rewardready Bonus workshop in June and it was a really practical and insightful session on the process to create a bonus strategy and the actions that need to be in place to ensure your bonus strategy is a fit to the needs of the organisation. The session was really informative and interactive. It was also a session that gave me many more tools than I had expected. Julia and Samantha are both very engaging and seasoned reward specialists who are also excellent trainers.
It has been genuinely great working with Verditer on our gender pay gap report. They simplified the process for us from start to finish, from processing the data, producing our report and helping us analyse and communicate our data. They were helpful and supportive throughout.
I definitely learned a lot from Verditer’s approach, particularly around the job classification. It was so useful during the restructure to support job design through a really coherent way to define business need.
We have recently partnered with Verditer to redesign our pay strategy. Sam and her team quickly grasped what we wanted to accomplish and had some great ideas on how to achieve a future-proof solution which fitted with our business needs. They have been thorough in their approach and always delivered on time. The BP reward training that Sam provided was exceptional and invaluable to building engagement and understanding.
Verditer supported us to produce a pay benchmarking report for our business. The tech industry has a competitive job-market so we wanted and needed to get this right. Sam and Julia worked with our internal HR team to benchmark our salaries and total compensation and delivered the work fast and tailored to our needs. Their knowledge and experience in reward is something rarely seen. They carefully listened to the challenges we face and came up with the most suiting solution. The output was an Exec presentation led by Verditer to help us best use the information. We were able to clearly see where our salaries and benefits sit against the market and make the necessary adjustments. It was a great quick win for us to be able to address a business challenge, show transparency and ultimately have a happy workforce.
Brunel University London appointed Verditer to help us with our recent gender pay gap report. Julia and her team provided a complete service starting with advice on data collection through to analysis and interpretation and then working in partnership with the University to consider the implications of our results and to prepare the narrative for our report. The quality of the end report is strong, particularly as Verditer took the time to understand the work the University is doing to celebrate and improve diversity and inclusivity. Verditer demonstrated the highest levels of customer service and expertise throughout the process and we would be delighted to work with them again in the future.
My sincerest thanks for organising and running such a resourceful workshop! I can honestly say, it's rare, remarkable and refreshing to see such enthusiastic and knowledgeable presenters. I gained an in-depth understanding of how to design my reward strategy, what the most modern tools available to me are, and how to best build my business case for senior management's buy-in. Reward Ready was very well designed, easy to understand and provided many good examples for each section.
My Head of HR came back from RewardReady all fired up, said it was the best workshop she has ever been to…. It was on time, organised, focussed and you really knew your stuff. She told me she wants to attend the strategic one in March and if we don’t signed it off, she is paying for it herself! Thank you.
Verditer supported us to carry out a pay benchmarking project. They were very flexible and worked in partnership with us to achieve our goals in very tight timescales. They supported our understanding, knowledge and translation of the results to our Executive team. We felt fully supported by their expertise throughout the project and they were very responsive when we had a query. All in all we were very happy with the service offered to us by Verditer.
We worked with Verditer to create a reward strategy for the College. From the outset, Verditer spent time to truly understand our brief, listened to our requirements and worked out what was right for us. They kept the dialogue going throughout, provided appropriate intervention and challenge but importantly let us come up with the answers. We now have a strategy we truly own, a clear set of principles, a common language and understanding of reward for MKC. It has been endorsed by the Board and is being used to develop a consistent approach for our biggest investment, our people.
Developing a pay strategy for our expansion into Ireland required some external input and expertise. Although data was available from one of the larger consultancies, interpreting it for our unique business, and very specific location, meant we had more questions than answers. We needed to adopt a more holistic approach and given my previous experience of working with Sam Gee, Verditer was the obvious choice. The comprehensive strategy report and presentation was well received. It gave us what we asked for and as ever was extremely well put together and professional.
Verditer’s methodical approach to the project matched the way we work and gave us the confidence that nothing would be missed. Julia and Sam’s expertise was invaluable for both the process and the outcomes. They helped us articulate our reward strategy in a clear and concise way that was sensitive to our culture, values and brand. Verditer supported us with putting the strategy into practice through benchmarking and creating new pay structures across the firm which enabled us to positively communicate our new approach so that employees were comfortable with the changes and giving us a platform for recruitment.
Verditer helped us develop our thinking around our reward strategy. Julia & Sam brought expert knowledge from the outside world, understood our context and helped us work through what was relevant and appropriate for us. We like to develop our thinking in-house and do the absolute best for the organisation. Verditer’s shared approach worked perfectly: enabling us to develop recommendations and confidently take the debate to our executive team to finalise a reward strategy that really belongs to us.
I partnered with Julia and Sam to refresh our reward strategy. In my experience they are on a par, if not better than, the big consultancies. They were quick to understand the business and I was comforted by their breadth of expertise which seemed to cover every aspect of reward. They are responsive, easy to work with, and have engaging and collaborative styles.
It is important for us to get pay right and ensure that everyone at Equity Housing has a fair deal. We worked with Verditer for the first time to benchmark our salaries for our executives and wider employee population. Julia and Vicky ensured it was a really straightforward process. They were helpful and clear at each stage from the information we needed to provide, the data sources and the analysis. The reports were really clear and succinct and provided us with the data that we needed to propose our annual pay review budget and to make the right decisions for individuals.
Working with Sam and Julia has been a real pleasure. The challenge for me of developing a reward strategy has been made so much easier through their unrivalled knowledge and expertise and significantly their ability to engage quickly with our Directors and senior leadership team, challenge their thinking and identify both financial and non-financial reward and recognition opportunities for us to explore. They very quickly understood our business, how we operate and what’s important to us and have enabled us to develop a bespoke strategy that reflects our core values.
Thank you for the accessible Gender Pay Gap Report and insightful Gender Pay Narrative Workshop. You clearly set out our requirements, but the real value add is the thoughtful long-term recommendations. You helped us shape our narrative, identify some critical actions, and given us some great ideas going forward.
Building and restructuring our sales team with a new focus and demanding targets, it was important to us to get reward right. We had searched a long time for the right consulting company to support us with our European sales and bonus review. The professionalism of the Verditer team has very much impressed us and the quality of the detailed report has exceeded our expectations. From having no real structure in place, Verditer’s work has been the catalyst for us to establish a consistent and transparent platform of pay and incentives to build a robust and competitive approach to sales reward on a European basis. We would choose Verditer again at any time.
Following a period of fast growth and as part of our harmonisation project, we needed to understand our pay positon. We worked with Verditer to benchmark our executive and staff salaries. It was the first time we had undertaken an exercise like this. Verditer helped find the right job matches for our unique roles and ensured both charity and commercial perspectives were taken into account. It is the first time we’ve had market data and costings for all roles in a consistent and clear way. Its given us the information we need for individual decision-making around attraction and retention and to build our job framework for the future. Julia and Sam truly understand the sensitivity, governance and complexity of pay in the charity/not-for-profit sector.
We engaged Verditer to provide strategic reward support. With Sam and Julia you receive a bespoke service and don’t feel part of a bigger machine or standard solution. They took the time to really get to know us and understand our issues and culture. Their consultation process with senior stakeholders enabled individual perspectives to be fully explored. This led to engagement in, and agreement to, the final recommendations. Overall, a really useful exercise.
Performance management is a subject that causes so much debate and differing opinions, but Sam and Julia delivered the way that Verditer see this in a balanced and thought provoking manner that cut through the noise and left you with the facts you need to know to take this forward.
We are pleased to partner with Verditer to explore how performance is managed and rewarded in Ricoh to create a high performance and service-led organisation. As experts in both performance management and reward they ensure both aspects are in tune with each other, and aligned to a coaching culture. The session with the executive team was insightful and thought-provoking, giving us clear opportunities for change going forward.
We worked with Verditer to benchmark salaries for our executive and senior management team. Sam and Julia provided a bespoke service that enabled us to benchmark in the UK and internationally. They took time to understand the business which ensured that the benchmarking was thorough and robust and gave us data we can rely on.
Sam was always a pleasure to work with and she has a wealth of expertise to draw on which she used skilfully to guide us through some significant step-changes in our reward strategies.
Personally, I have benefited from Sam’s coaching and really enjoyed using her to test out ideas and check back on my own performance.
Sam had the gravitas to successfully engage with the Executive Management Team, and earned our respect through her expertise and knowledge. This was our first big reward project and Sam helped us break it down and kept us on track in terms of goals, timing and budget. She presented us with clear information and options which helped us make the necessary high level decisions. It was an interesting leadership development experience for [us], both in terms of the EMT and HR.
Sam supported us to introduce a new sales bonus to the business which has resulted in increased engagement results around pay and benefits within the business development team. Sam clearly demonstrated that she is an expert in her field and approached the project with a personable and professional approach. She guided us through the key decisions and ensured that we produced a bonus structure that was fit for purpose, easy to understand and simple.
We worked with Sam Gee on our executive bonus structure and her experience supported us to align pay to performance. Sam guided us through the process to ensure we created a simple but effective framework which drives high performance which is always affordable. The agreed bonus structure enables us to drive executive performance towards our key organisational goals, including our outrageous ambition. Sam took time to understand [our business] and delivered a bespoke solution.
Samantha Gee guided us through a major review of the bonus system we use for our Senior Executive Team. As a result we have been able to put in place a more considered structure that has the support of both the Board and the Executive Team. Her advice on this was invaluable.
I worked with Julia for several years when she managed reward for AstraZeneca's Commercial business, globally. We were both part of the same leadership team. She demonstrated great partnering for the business ensuring that reward outcomes were aligned with business strategy but also showing a preparedness to roll up her sleeves and deal with detail when needed. She was also great fun to work with and a trusted colleague.
Having embarked on a project to harmonise pay and terms and conditions of employment for 1100 employees covered by multiple arrangements, and as we did not have any internal expertise, we engaged Sam to work in partnership with us given her vast industry knowledge and expertise. Sam soon became an integral part of our team supporting us to deliver credible, realistic and quality solutions to the challenges of our multiple arrangements. Sam’s ability to really understand our business and the challenges it faces with this project made the support she provided invaluable. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sam for any project of this nature and we would certainly use Sam again should the situation arise.
The ease with which your efforts have achieved positive results has been immensely impressive.
Sam was responsible for both the reward and resourcing functions for the charity, alongside key performance management and engagement projects. Her expertise is clear to see. She spends quality time with her teams and clients and proactively listens to what is important to them. She is then quick to discuss and evaluate solutions that are commercial and results orientated. Sam is a warm and engaging leader that gets the best from everyone that she works with.
I should first say how valuable and decisive your advice has been over the last year, in modernising the pay structure for (our organisation). Certainly I would have found my task as Chair of the Remuneration Committee very difficult without your input. I think it almost certain that we shall want to call on your advice on frequent occasions in the future.
