WEBINAR RECORDING: From Reporting to Results
26th May 2026
Samantha Gee
Last week we held a webinar discussing the impact of the Employment Rights Act on gender pay gap reporting. The focus was on gender and menopause action planning with presentations from Sam (Verditer), Michelle (Equality Pays), and Jo (Joanne Pagett Performance & Menopause Coaching).

Sam provided legislative context, explaining that while gender pay gap reporting has been mandatory since 2017, the new Employment Rights Act requires organisations to publish equality action plans alongside their gender pay gap figures, with menopause support becoming a specific requirement. She highlighted that only 43% of organisation had voluntary narratives linked to their 2025 gender pay gap submissions, and less than a third had actual equality action plans.
Michelle emphasized that effective action plans should be rooted in detailed data analysis across the employee lifecycle, involve collective ownership rather than sole responsibility in HR, and include proper measurement and evaluation metrics beyond just gender pay gap figures.
Jo shared that menopause costs the economy £1.5 billion annually due to lost productivity, yet only one in four organizations have formal menopause policies, and 94% of menopausal women experience symptoms at work but go unnoticed.
The presenters discussed how organisations should move beyond tick-box compliance by focusing on cultural change, manager training, and creating psychological safety.
